one day someone sent me an email chainletter that said 
"put your name on the list if you promise to never drink 
and drive".  like typing your name on a list is going to
save people's lives or something.  seeing a bit of humor
in the situation, i replied to it, saying something to the
effect of "count me out- drunk driving is fun as shit." to
which several people replied something like "that's such a
stupid thing to say.  drunk driving isn't a laughing matter.
i don't think that is very funny." even though i was just
goofing around.  seeing an opportunity to rant, i wrote the
following dissertation (well it's not technically a dissertation
but close by my standards).  it seems pretty facetious of me
to put this up on my website, but i decided to be facetious
for once and just do it.  i'm kinda proud of my rebuttal.

yea this quote has nothing to do with what im tryin 2
say other than it says "wake up get a sense of humor"...
there are certain things that are just not socially
acceptable to joke about, taboo subjects. and i don't 
think thats cool at all.  the whole point of making a 
joke is that you're not serious.  sure, many people have
died as a result of drunk driving, but so many more people
have died because of their race, religion, or nationality,
and there's SO many jokes about those topics.  i mean,
how often do you hear a black person, jewish, or polish 
joke? all the time right? so if i (or anyone for that matter) 
pokes fun at a topic that is considered taboo, remember that 
its just a joke, im not a meanspirited person.  eminem gets 
SO much shit for the stuff he says on his album, and he has
said time and time again that people need to understand the
difference between a joke and being serious.  and people 
really need to stop being pussies about every little damn 
thing that ruffles someone's feathers.  i do not see the
big deal.  i think anyone who took it seriously should 
chill.
