Heavenly Father
The serpent is the one that deceiveth me.
Thy Spirit is the force that guideth me.
Though I'm lost, I know I'm found . . and only
victory can be told when I reach the ground.
This is why I always repent.
For I hear words from the serpent:
*You say I'm drunk -- but I know I'm sober.
You say I'm trippin' -- yeah, well I say I'm slippin'.
Though the clouds shelter me with your bright light,
You watch over me, you watch me be safe
'Cause sometimes life seems strange, I know it's still
the same. I try not to lie, cheat, steal, and/or rob,
That's what confused persons do, for they are slobs!
I'm on my own time, it works in my favor -- too
bad society resorts to such a sour flavor!
Shaking, jerking, I grow nervous, everything
seems like a three ring circus . . . I trust too
many people, therefore I'm at ground zero. Just give
me a chance, Lord, and I'll be someone's hero!!
Like the Lord says, I'll never leave you, nor forsake you . . .
For when you ever see that bright light, you found a clue!
I know I'll never worry, for I've looked death in the eyes!
I cry, I beg, and I suffer for what I believe, I just
can't sometimes figure out when I've deceived. All I
know is that I'll go by your word and your creed; and
maybe when the time comes shortly, I won't be weak!
'Cause I only have one father who cares for me;
and the blessing of him accepting me is all I now seek!
