Our school celebrated Teachers' Day on Sep 28th 1998. In conjunction with the day, an art and craft exhibition was held in the auditorium. The real celebration started at 9:40 a.m. when the F5 students surprised the teachers with a cake and flowers for every teacher. They took that opportunity to show their gratitudes and appreciation for their teachers. Earlier, three students from the F4 classes have said a few words of thanks to the teachers in three languages. After the cake-cutting ceremony, the concert began. There were songs, dances and plays in both English and Malay languages performed by the students. The teachers have enjoyed themselves and were pleased to see how much effort the students have put in for the show. |

Four students (Alan Chan Kah Poh, Ho Ming Hui, Jonathan Th'ng and
Ashish Kumar) represented the school in the Wordplay 1998 organised by
the CFBT (Centre for British Teachers) and sponsored by Hong Kong Bank. The students have
gone through the first and semi-quarters round and was qualified for the semi-finals which
was held on Sep 24th, 1998. They lost 58-59 to Sekolah Menengah Sufri Bolkiah and was
disqualified for the finals. However, they managed to beat Sekolah Menengah Menglait and
won 2nd runner-up. Each student was presented with $100 account with H. K. Bank, a crystal
trophy and a dictionary. The students have put in a lot of effort during the numerous practices for the Quiz which lasted for almost two months. Their quick response and general knowledge have helped them to do well in the competition. Their performance, once again, shows that our students can do well in English as well as B. Melayu and Chinese. Congratulations! |
