Ah, Claude Frollo, a proud minister and pious judge, secluded high, high up in his Palace of Justice. Who is this man? What is he on about? How did he manage to become the focus of my obsessive nature? Hush, and Mephista will tell you...
Well, for those who don't know, anyway, Claude Frollo is a character in the Hugo novel, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", the good and kind caretaker of our dear hunchback Quasimodo. Disney took the story and made a pretty powerful, amazing little animated movie with it...and molded Frollo into one absolutely riveting villain.
And what a delectable little hypocrite he is, too. "Frollo saw corruption everywhere except within..." sings the narrator of the story in the opening number. So, our dear Judge is out to cleanse the world of those oh-so-sinful Gypsies (scary, huh?)...but the problem is, he falls for one of 'em (not that I want to get too literal, or anything). Still, quite a conundrum for Frollo, and quite entertaining to watch. I heartily recommend doing so, if you haven't.
And even if you have, too! I know I never get tired of it...but then, I'm obsessed. It's okay, I get like this fairly often about one thing or another (see my other site for a detailed Obsession rundown :). In this case, though, it's just that, well, I've had this...thing...all my life for really great villains. Claude Frollo had my jaw on the floor the first time I saw Disney's movie...and now, here we are at my slobbering fan site, complete with strings of drool spanning the corners. Watch your step. :)
