This is about Johnny. Hes the main character, hence the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Jhonen has made a point of not defining his past. I dont think he wanted to give us a scary event in young Johnnys life that would justify his homicidal tendencies. I cant believe that Nny is the hero of the story. I mean, here is a boy that kills people (obviously). Thats not good. I dont kill people, not even the ones that make fun of me like people make fun of Johnny. He gives himself credit for a great intellect that surpasses those of the assholes, but still falls prey to responding to the prodding of their stupid adolescent bitchiness. Sometimes I hear other fans talking about how he kills shit . . . huh-huh . . . thats cool. My god, whats wrong with you people?
People say that he kills the assholes and that makes him the hero. Of course thats nice, but some of those people can be cured by intense psychotherapy (unlike Nny). On the other hand, he isnt above killing people on whim. He murdered the Kwik-E-Mart guy just because hed turned off the freezy machine! I mean, I admit, its upsetting, but wouldnt it have been more effective to ask him to turn it back on? Nny isnt a people person, but he isnt a super villain, either. Hes torn away from his deeper thoughts by the promise of a funny commecial! I guess that ties back into the surrealism of the whole comic. The twisted and philosophical ramblings of Johnny can create a mood that will be completely blown by a sudden craving for snackies. Maybe thats just another way of saying dont take this all seriously. I sincerely doubt Jhonen wants scary little knife weilding Nny wannabes (like Jimmy O_o) running amok shoving churritos up people asses (that would really suck, yknow). I think Johnny is sort of a representation of our inner monster that stabs down those who slight us and really doesnt feel guilty for it. Everyone has those feelings, whether they deny them or not.
Gaarg, I was being all serious! Disgusting, aint it? Id rather let my brain slip into the random Happy Noodle Boy-esque frame of thought than the ponderings of morality Nny falls into. Mooooo! Fetch me my rapier, boy! En guarde! I kill you! I kill you and you DIE! Now go and be a happy cabbage!
