Full name: Steven Khong Yun Fu.
My friends just call me "Steve".
At my workplace, I get called "Steven". Or "Mr. Khong".
My ex-girlfriends & sweethearts tend to call me "Steven". Wonder why?
I get called "Uncle Steve" in tiny cute voices by the kids.
My close friends & colleagues sometimes call me "Uncle Khong" - just to make me feel old?
But, I prefer plain old "Steve".
Born October 1st, 1968
Remember to celebrate my birthday, please... ;-)
5 feet 5.5 inches / 166 cm
150 lbs / 70 kg (oof!)
Pale yellowish reddish complexion (I'm a Summer person),
a bit on the hairy (!) side for a Chinese...
Handicap: I wear glasses all the time unless I switch to contacts because I'm playing some sports or driving long distance & using sunglasses or just being plain vain ;-)
Not married... yet!
Still waiting on God to provide the right person AND at the right timing...
My dad's Hakka & my mom's HockChiew / FooChow
Fluency in that order too!
However, when it comes to speaking Chinese dialects, I get all messed up 'cos I hardly practice anyway. Yeah, I'm like what they call a "banana" - yellow on the outside, and white on the inside, haha ;-)
I do try to learn up my Cantonese & Mandarin. I do have great respect for my heritage.
Citizen of Malaysia (That's between Thailand & Singapore!)
I live in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia (Usually you can't find P.J. on the world maps...)
And I stay with my parents in P.J., for now...
I work in P.J. too, for the moment... My office will shift to the major city of Kuala Lumpur soon (yes, you can find that on the map!)
Spent 3 years in University of Mississippi getting my Bachelor of Computer Science, with minor in Telecommunications, graduated Summer August 1991.
Worked part time doing lots of computer related stuff after my high school & before college + university & even during university.
Been working full time as Analyst Programmer since October 1991 - yeah, God's blessed me with a super job right after I came back from US!
I work for Dataprep Distribution Sdn. Bhd. in the Automatic Identification Division - dealing with bar coding equipment like bar code scanners & printers.
As an Analyst Programmer I visit clients & give consultation & come up with specifications & then write the programs for PC systems and / or the portable PC scanners.
Oh, but I'm surely not "square" or a "nerd" or the other misconceptions you hear about computer people. I do love being around people and just spending time with people - when I'm not working!
I'm a Christian - the true article! I know, there are lots of people who say they are Christians, but they're really not living like one! God's a really big part of my life and He's sure turned me around - can't imagine life without Him! Click here to find out more...
