They Settled in the South

All over the Old South. | On 28 Oct 1868 W. L. Moodie wed Sarah Estella Gregg (b 28 Dec 1845). She was the daughter of Milton Gregg (b 24 Dec 1804, d 5 Jan 1859) who on 25 Dec 1828 married Lucy B Dennis (b 15 Oct 1807 d 4 Feb 1862). They had nine children, seven of whom died before 1862. Gregg was one of the names taken by MacGregor clan members during the proscription of the MacGregor name.

EVERYWHERE! | Walter Gregg Moodie, Sr married Ethel Rena Shaulp on 17 Jun 1903. Their son Walter Gregg, Jr died in 1978. Louis Roy Moodie, PhD, died on 16 Feb 1934, resided in Santa Monica, CA, changed his name to Roy Lee Moodie, and was a professor of paleontology at UCLA. On 29 Jun 1910 he married Catherine M Wood of Kansas City. They had a son, William Ross. William Leslie Moodie died on 14 Apr 1944 in Seattle, WA. He was married on 2 Dec 1911 in Post Falls, Kootenai County, ID to Cora Anna Smith, who died on 7 May 1952 in Seattle. He resided most of his life in Seattle and on Mercer Island in King County, WA. He worked as college and high school botany instructor and was a dedicated Christian Science practitioner. Their daugher, Donnabelle, born 23 Jul 1916 in Bellingham, WA, died 1 Nov 1994 in Scappoose, OR where she had lived for thirty years. She was my mother.
