Biography Michael McEachern McDowell was born in Enterprise, Alabama in the summer of 1950. He entered Harvard in 1968 but want he really wanted to do was write. After writing half a dozen novels, in 1979 Avon Books finally aggreed to publish his original paperback called The Amulet. Michael published 33 books often under a pseduonym and sometimes collaborating with other authors. Some of his pseduonyms include Nathan Aldyne (with Dennis Schuetz), Axel Young, Mike McCray, and Preston MacAdam. His works covered several genres including: horror, the supernatural, the occult, detective stories and murder mysteries.
