Biography

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Since my birth, I've lived in four different places, in three different counties, and two different states. I went to four-year-old kindergarten, three elementary schools, two middle schools, one highschool, and so far, one university. I am 21 years old. My roots are in country life. My family has always raised animals and grew its own vegetables and fruit. Though my father's job kept us on the move, my home has always been here in the South Carolina countryside, and though we've moved, we always came back. I was taught how to keep a farm and how to live off the land. I've not yet had to rely on these methods in order to survive. I thought that Y2K might give me a chance, but it didn't.
I became interested in art when I was in elementary school. My favorite cartoons were Scooby-Doo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Thundercats, and Transformers. I used to get coloring books for all of these shows. Most of these shows either went off the air, or I was in a town where I couldn't pick up the right channel to see them. So when I started making attempts to draw, I drew characters from the only cartoon I liked that I could also watch; it was the brand new cartoon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I soon made the transition to comic books. I loved Marvel Comics. My favorites where Ghostrider and Morbius. I would say that it was at this point that I developed an artistic interest in violence, death, horror, fantasy, etc. Somewhere deep inside, I think I've always had a deep-seeded interest in those types of things. They influence my work in every way. It also effects the movies I watch and the music I listen to and play.
I began playing the guitar when I was in seventh grade. I got my first guitar for Christmas that year. It was an acoustic. I took private lessons for a year, including classical technique. I've been in two local bands, and I've been flattered by rumors that I am one of the most exceptional lead guitar players in this area. Whether they are true or not, I can't say.
Since I started attending the University of South Carolina, I've maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.8. I've been on the Dean's list every semester of my college career. I'm a member of five honor societies. I'll be graduating in a year. After I graduate, I plan on pursuing a career in graphic design, illustration, web design, animation, special effects, or something in that ballpark. I wouldn't mind being a member of a successul band, though.
