Narrator: Now, let's hear the rest of the story of Perseus and Andromeda:

Nereid: Andromeda's problems really weren't her fault! If her mother, Cassiopeia, would not have been so conceited, Andromeda may never have been chained to a rock by the sea, waiting for a monster to eat her. But since Cassiopeia would not stop talking about how beautiful she was, I, a beautiful goddess of the sea, had to do something! What would you do If you were me?

Cassiopeia: I am so beautiful! I am more beautiful than the Nereids, the goddesses of the sea. No one is more beautiful than I!!!

Nereid: Cassiopeia is going to be sorry when I tell Poseidon about this!! She isnt half as beautiful as I am!! Hey, Cassiopeia, come over here!

Cassiopeia: Yes, oh ugly one, how can I help you? Perhaps you would like some beauty advice.

Nereid (Jackie Brank) tells Cassiopeia (Christine Belnap) to stop bragging.

Nereid: I've got some advice for you. You better stop bragging or you're going to make Poseidon mad. Besides, where did you get that hairdo? And those clothes? And those shoes? I'm going to tell Poseidoni!!

Cassiopeia: Go ahead and tell him!! Maybe he can make you more beautiful with his magic powers, but I don't think even Poseidon is that powerful!!

Nereid: Poseidon!! Cassiopeia is insulting me!!

Poseidon: What?!!! That's it! No one insults my beautiful sea goddesses and gets away with it!! Cetus!! Cetus!! Get over here NOW!!!

Cetus: Yes, master, how can I be of service?

Poseidon: I want you to eat everything in sight! Everything and everyone until

Cassiopeia regrets what she has done!

Cetus: But why, master?

Poseidon: Because she is insulting one of my beautiful goddesses.

Cetus: Yes master, she is very beautiful!!!

Nereid: YUK!! Stay away from me, you ugly thing. Get away - go eat a village or something!

Poseidon: Cetus!! Go now!!

Cetus: Yes, master. I will destroy the village. And when I have finished, I will return.

Nereid: So the great monster Cetus devoured everything in his path. Before long, Cepheus, Andromeda's father, went to talk to Poseidon.

Cepheus: Poseidon, please stop Cetus! He's destroying everything!!

Poseidon: The only way to stop Cetus is to give up your daughter to the monster.

Cepheus: What? Andromeda? Why?

Poseidon: Maybe that will convince your wife Cassiopeia that it is not a good idea to

brag about her beauty, especially if she is going to insult my beautiful goddesses.

Narrator: So Cepheus chained his daughter Andromeda to a rock.

Andromeda: Wait, father, I didn't do anything! What are you doing?

Cepheus: Your mother Cassiopeia has made Poseidon angry, and this is the only way to stop the sea monster.

Andromeda: So I get eaten by a monster because my mother brags about her beauty? That doesn't seem fair!

Narrator: Andromeda was chained to the rock even though she begged her father not to sacrifice her.

Andromeda: Don't father! Please! I know this is the only way to save everyone, but I don't deserve this! Please don't!

Nereid: Teases Andromeda about being ugly - insults her mother - tells Cetus to hurry up and kill Andromeda, etc.)

Perseus: Luckily for Andromeda, I, Perseus, happened to by flying by on my winged horse right at that moment.

Andromeda: Hey, wait! See that monster?

Perseus: Yes.

Andromeda: Well, he's going to eat me if you don't do something!!

Perseus: I can save you, fair maiden, but be careful of this head I am carrying in this bag.

Andromeda: What are you doing with a head?

Perseus: Well, I needed to bring the head of Medusa to the man my mother doesn't want to marry. Now my mother doesn't have to worry because she is already married to Zeus, king of the gods, and she doesn't want to make him angry.

Andromeda: Doesn't Medusa have snakes for hair?

Perseus: Yes, and she can turn you into stone, so be careful!! Don't look at her!

Narrator: So Perseus saved Andromeda and then asked for her hand in marriage, but Cepheus told her she was already promised to the king of Tyre.

Perseus: What? Why didn't the king of Tyre save her then?

Cepheus: Because he was scared.

Perseus: Well, I'll show him something he should really be scared of!!

Perseus (Josh Kantz) holds up the head of Medusa while Andromeda (Christine Belnap) looks away.

Andromeda: And that's when Perseus took Medusa's head out of the bag and turned everyone except me and my family into stone.

Perseus: To this day, to remind you of this tale, you can find Cepheus, Cassiopeia, Perseus, Cetus, and Andromeda in the night sky.

Narrator: I know that constellations are made of stars... but what are stars anyway? I wonder if I could ever be a star...
