Cast:

Narrator: Eryka Peters

Fanny: Jason Raffey

Clammy: Chris Swan

Narrator: In the beginning there were two clams that got beached. This is their story.

Clammy: Fanny, I think we've been beached.

Fanny: Me, too, Clammy.

Clammy: Hey, look at that! It's the moon! I bet that's why the waves are acting strangely. It's the tides that beached us!

Fanny: Didn't you take that course in clam college about the moon?

Clammy: Come to think of it, I did! It was a pretty neat course. We learned that the moons gravitational pull created tides because it pulls on the water and swishes it around.

Fanny: And remember when I took that course in Greek mythology and learned about how the constellations became what they are today?

Clammy: Yeah -so?

Fanny-. Remember the story about Perseus?

Clammy-. Yeah! I remember.

Fanny- Well, let's tell that story to the nice people watching us. We don't have anything else to do, since we're beached.

Clammy: Okay. It all started when my cousin Dictys found a large wooden chest washed up on the shore. When he opened the lid, he thought he would find a treasure, but instead, he found a beautiful woman holding a baby.

Fanny: That's right. And it turned out that this woman was Danae, and her baby boy was Perseus. She was trying to escape from a prophecy that claimed her son would murder his father.

Clammy: Dictys was very kind, but his brother, Polydectes, the king of the island, was cruel, and he wanted to marry Danae.

Fanny: When Perseus grew up, he decided he would help Ms mother. He told King Polydectes he would give the king anything, if only he would leave Danae alone. The king demanded that Perseus bring him Medusa's head.

Clammy: That may not seem like such a big deal, but Medusa had snakes for hair, and if you looked at her, you turned to stone! So, Perseus went to the valley where Medusa lived, and to avoid looking directly at her, he used his shield as a mirror. He chopped off her head, and was on his way back to King Polydectes when he noticed a woman chained to a rock...

Fanny: Watch out! Here comes the tidel

Clammy: Oh no! We cant finish the storyl

Narrator: But aren't you going to finish the story. I wonder what happened next?
