Love is the greatest of all
human emotions and qualities, and because of this,
it is fairly regularly abused
as well. Love (and things pertaining to love) is something
I have been tantalised by,
and investigative of, for a long long time.
So here to you, I offer my
observations on a subject that has pre-occupied
great minds, writers, musicians,
artists, and a smorgasbord of others
since the beginning of time....
- Pure love is the most simple and beautiful thing in the world, and yet one of the most difficult things to achieve.
- Love is powerful. Under the spell of love, people will be inspired to do things that they either normally would not, or could not do.
- The power of love also enables some people to utilise it for dishonourable reasons, because while love is empowering, it also can leave those that open themselves to its influence quite vulnerable to others with sinister motives.
- Love is life-giving. No matter how low a situation is, the presence of love offers the possibility of triumph.
- Love is often painful, as things that matter do not usually come without a price. But as with other valuable things that are sought after, the price pales upon acquisition of the treasure.
- Some believe that love is controllable, and that their instincts may be ignored. While the possibility is therefor this to happen, true love never succumbs to outside influence. Therefore, manipulated love is of an inferior quality.
- Love is a blessing, and cannot be bought or sold.
- True love's power can overcome all evil.
- Love is evasive to those not willing to open themselves to the possibility of it, to the sacrifices that need to be made, and to the hard work that accompanies it.
Real love is more precious than any material possession. Love is resilient even in poverty, and will provide happiness. Prosperity without love is no guarantee at all of happiness.
