Sandhill Crane
I always enjoyed watching the Sandhill Cranes from my mobile home that I lived in at Land O' Lakes. They seemed to be quite used to me. One day I decided to get a closer look at a chick and a rather scary thing happened. When I approched the chick, the crane that I assumed was the female, pretended to be hurt and flopped as far away from the chick as possible. The Male had a totally different approach and came walking towards me very 'mater of factly' as if saying, "Why are you here? You may leave now!"

American Eagle (Hawthorne)
I assumed that an eagle was about the size of a chicken before I saw an actual eagle on the beach of a home I stayed at in Hawthorne. I could not get over the size. It was truly amazing. It stood about 4 feet. When I told my parents about it, they didn't believe me,  they assumed that bald eagles were not in this territory.

Pileated Woodpecker (Lake Panasoffkee)
This thing is absolutely Mind-Blowing! The first time I saw one, I felt like I was on another planet light-years from here. The size is incredible and the red plumage on the head is striking.

Red-bellied Woodpecker
This little guy proved to be quite an eye-opener one Saturday morning I thought I might sleep late. He decided to peck away at the corner of my mobile home and it sounded alot like someone working with a jackhammer. "Okay, Okay, I'm Up, I'm Up!"
