Reunion 1

Okemah, Oklahoma  -   August 4, 1994  -  Hosts: James Parks & Family

What a success! All 38 of us agree.

Dennis & Karen flew to Dallas and drove to Okemah with Evelyn--Dennis says
Evelyn cruised at about 73 mph most of the way! Lazine  & Brownie, on the
other hand, drove from Arizona in 3 days.  George, Phyllis, Shirley, Sally,
Stan, and Stan's kite all came  together from Omaha. Larry, Kathy, and
Marcy, and Matt and Christie  (thanks to the lady woman who assaulted
Christie)  drove from Dallas. Sam, Leslie, Thomas, David, and Mary Margaret
came  direct from seven days together in a one-room cabin in Colorado where
Leslie scaled the world's highest peak. James' friend, Robbie Lee  Watts,
arrived on Friday to find that James hadn't slept or changed  clothes in two
days. I arrived on Thursday to set up the command post.  Tony helped Shannon
import the photo studio from Dallas. Connie,  Shari, and Sheila must have
spent all week cooking. Bob, Joe, and Jim  didn't even go to the store or
funeral home from sundown Friday  through Sunday! Tony and Robert's return
from the Oklahoma City  shrimp run was delayed due to traffic! Leslie Parks
found a soul mate.  John, Becky, Jade, and Kash didn't know they had so many
relatives.  Linda came on Sunday in time to see everyone. Sally said "do we
all look like our mothers or what."

The Big Finale

1:00 AM Party above Evelyn -- Evelyn called the manager.

2:00 AM Large black man with very large belly trying to get in  Leslie's
room with car keys -- Leslie called the manager.

3:00 AM The Search - Someone robbed the gas station next to the  OK Motorlodge
at gunpoint. The entire Okemah PD + volunteers +  Sheriff Deputies +?
commenced to search every room at the OK  Motorlodge. Leslie thouught it was
someone still trying to get in her  room (called the manager -- obviously the
manager didn't get any  sleep either!) Shirley wouldn't let them in her
room because they  had no ID and then lectured them about not carrying IDs.
"What do  you want, Matt" -- Larry thought Matt was causing trouble! Leslie
still thinks this was all staged to make is a truly memorable reunion.
Really, Leslie. Would anyone do that?

Let's don't lose one another again. We'll do this again in  one, three,
five years or whenever. Stay in touch.
