The Raelian Church brings together 35,000 members from 84 countries and is based on a belief in the ELOHIM. This Hebrew word from the Bible, which has been translated as god, actually refers to extraterrestrials who created life scientifically on Earth. This religion advocates values of tolerance, respect for differences, be they racial, sexual or other including celebration of heterosexual and homosexual weddings, sharing, birth control to avoid overpopulation, removal of outdated religious taboos, promotion of the use of condoms to avoid the spread of AIDS, divorce without guilt and with commitment to mutual respect by the ex-partners during a ceremony before a priest, ordination of women and homosexuals to the priesthood, and so on. |

notable value promoted by this religion is total non-violence and individual
responsability.
Because of this total non-violence, Raelians who reject military service, and all Swiss Raelians, have served prison sentences for refusing to bear arms, since Switzerland does not recognize conscientious objector status. Individual responsability, a real antidote to extremism, requires Raelians always to follow their conscience rather than their leader, since "the life of only one person is more percious than that of the whole of humanity". They are also taught that "even if the Elohim (God) asked them to kill someone, they should refuse, and "the one holding the weapon is as responsible as the one giving the order." This precept will prevent anyone from hiding behind the excuse that "they are just following orders", as did the Nazi criminals who dereponsibilised themselves and blamed everything on Hitler. |

In the Beginning... ELOHIM said:"Let us make humans in our image." (Genesis 1:1/26)Life on earth is not the result of random evolution. It is a deliberate creation, using DNA, by an advanced race of people who made human beings literally "in their image". Traces of this epic masterpiece can be found not only in the Bible, but in the ancient texts of many cultures - as can their symbol of infinity, the oldest symbol known on earth. The word "Elohim" in Genesis is plural word which does not mean "God" in the singular but "Those who come from the sky".Leaving us to progress alone, the Elohim maintained contact via PROPHETS such as Moses, Buddha, Mohammed, etc., deliberately chosen and educated by them to deliver the Message appropriate for each age. Jesus, whose father was an Elohim, was given the task of spreading these messages throughout the world in preparation for this crucial time in which we are now privileged to live - the predicted AGE OF REVELATION. Now thanks to our scientific understanding, we have a chance to comprehend our origins and the true nature of these "Gods", who created us and who love us as their children. |

Without the neutrality of an embassy, free air space and an official welcome, an unannounced and undesired landing would have enormous political, economic and social repercussions with disastrous consequences worldwide. Nor do they wish to sanction any government, religion or ideology other than that of the Raelian Movement, by contacting another building first. Thus they will only come when we build their embassy, such is their love and respect for us. |
