 Welcome, all you lovely travellers! This is my small part of my spirit realm devoted to March and St. Patrick's Day. I'm not Irish, but I sometimes wish I was. The accents are so lovely. But that is not why you are here! No, you are here specifically because you heard about the March Madness of Spirit! What's that, you ask, weary traveller? Let me explain. March - The contest will run throughout the month of March. Madness - Go nuts with this! I want to hear all your thoughts! (And I'm playing off that annoying basketball phenomenon. *grin* I'm not proud. I figured it would spark some curiousity. Basketball? Where!?) of - A preposition. Not really important all by itself. Spirit - I want to hear you roar! I want to hear you shout! This is the place for spirit! That's what we're all about! Lost? I apologize. "Contest? What? There was no mention of that before!" Mmmm. Seems I have gotten ahead of myself. The contest is that of poetry! "Poetry? I can't do that!" Why SURE you can! I have seen you, weary traveller, shouting it out! Well, that's what I want to hear! That's what the theme of this contest is all about! Spirit! Show me your spirit! Send me all those brilliant cheers! I know you can do it! There are a couple rules, though. (It's a contest, you know there had to be rules. *wink*) Rules for March Madness of Spirit Rule One The theme is Spirit, hence the name of the Contest - March Madness of Spirit. Sooooooooooo, all poems, cheers, and/or shouts must relate to the theme. Much as I love getting flowery poems about love or funny poems about Christmas, let's stick to the theme. There IS a method to the madness. "There is?" Well, don't look so shocked. YES, there is. *chuckles* Anything submitted to this contest can be used to SHOUT IT OUT! Wow! Imagine that! (Yes, this is a big fat hint......) Rule Two Much like SHOUT IT OUT, I am only accepting five entries per person. Even if you have multiple personas (I have more than one myself!) I can only accept five. I'm only one person. I can only read so much! No, I don't want just one from you, but ten from ten people is already one hundred! WHOA! Since I hope to have LOTS of people submit, I need to limit it. I apologize, but I'm only human. Rule Three They have to be original. Yup. I said original. No 'borrowing' from a bank for this one! Since there's a prize involved, I am not going to be able to accept anything not written by the person submitting it. Again, I am sorry, but you never know! Break out that old brain! It doesn't have to rhyme! You can even base it off a song! Need some ideas? Run on over to SHOUT IT OUT and have a look see! And while you are there, spred some spirit by posting a cheer! (Yup, another blatant hint. And no, I'm not being paid for it.) Rule Four Have fun. Yup. That's the entirety of this rule. Have FUN with this. Do not stress over this. It's merely a contest. That's all. Just a contest. It's for fun! And to spread the Site Fights Spirit! That's all it's for! Rule Five No submissions accepted before midnight est on March 1, 2000 and none will be accepted after midnight est March 31, 2000. Why EST? 'Cause that's where I am! That particular time zone. Makes it easy for me! Get those brains moving! Get the juices flowing! I know you all can do it! The Prize! Alright. You've had the explanation and you've seen the rules. I bet you want to know what you get for all this trouble, eh weary travellers? Well, let me tell you. It's a secret! *chuckles* No, seriously, for the winner of this contest, the Ice Rose will create a set - personalized to the winner's taste - for the winner's website. Roses, ducks, flowers, a big fat black spot, whatever the winner wants. Plus a nifty little plaque that says "I won this for showing Spirit!" Of course, the Ice Rose will probably require a link back to her site and a small logo, but hey, isn't that a small price to pay for a custom made set? Don't you think? All participants will receive a 'pretty' for their site telling how they survived the Ice Rose's March Madness. *grin* She so loves pretties. Alright! Get out there and start thinking!
