Stories of the Ice Rose

'Nuff said. Most are a bit fragmented, built of role playing or general thoughts. Onto the good stuff.

Pieces of Altered Reality
The sun sets slowly over the forest surrounding the stone keep. The warmth brought by the sun fades as it drops below the horizon. The keep begins to wake, slowly but surely. The bar begins to fill, the balcony doors are thrown open. People drift downstairs from their sanctuaries from the sun's rays.
Ailyssa shifts, coming awake slowly. her first impression is that she has somehow become tangled in her sheets. She frowns at this, then becomes aware that her sheets are generating a lot of heat. Then she notices that the sheets are wrapped around her waist and bunched behind her. She shifts again, confused. Her eyes flutter open, startled, as the the sheets murmur and pull her back.
"Mon dieu! What on - " Her exclamation of surprise is cut off as her mind begins to work. "Mal," she whispers, a smile creeping across her face. She turns, looking up at him. She lays still, watching him sleep. "Axia, you have lost something very precious. I wonder if you know how much you have lost . . . "

Ailyssa wakes slowly, shifting to her tummy. She reaches out her left hand, searching, her eyes fluttering open when she encounters only cool sheet. "Hmmmmmm?" She stretches, catlike, coming more awake. A soft smile skates across her face as she sits up. She pulls the covers around her, shivering a bit from the cool breeze coming in the open balcony door. She looks around the room, tilting her head, listening for sounds. Hearing neither the shower, nor any other sounds in the bathroom, she sighs. Standing, she pulls the sheet around her, walking out onto the balcony. She blinks.
"No wonder! Mon dieu! I haven't slept this late in ages!" She pulls the sheet closer and looks up at the moon. "Come back safe, mon amour . . . " She wanders back into the room and chuckles as she sees the rose laying on his pillow. She picks it up, running the perfect blossom over her cheek. "Well, I love you too." She chuckles, curling into a chair near the balcony door. She looks out the door, up at the moon. "I wonder what you are up to, mon cher. Hopefully, you're not having fun without me." She chuckles.

Dreams - or Raelity?

The sun slowly begins to rise, making the water sparkle with red-gold light. A tall, slender woman walks along the shore, the waves washing over her bare feet. She lifts her face to the sun, her fire-red hair glowing. She shoves her hands into her pockets of her jean shorts, sighing. She retreats from the water's edge and sits down, pulling her knees into her chest, her emerald green eyes upon the water.
Behind her, a figure begins to approach. A tall man moves gracefully, yet silently, towards the woman who is lost in thought. The sun picks up the blonde in his hair, making it glimmer. His blue eyes are fixed totally on the woman. He observes her every movement as he comes up behind her.
The woman closes her eyes and drops her head to her knees, her shoulders shaking in silent tears. The man stops behind her, puzzled. He comes around to her side and kneels beside her, reaching out a hand to lift her chin.
"What's wrong, Tier?" He asks, his eyes showing his confusion.
Tierney blinks several times, then reaches out a hand to touch his face.
"T - Talen?" He chuckles.
"Last time I checked." He smiles as her eyes grow wide. "Yes, it's me." Tierney blinks again then throws her arms around him, hugging tight, murmuring almost incoherently in Irish. Talen holds her close, still puzzled. He shakes his head, waiting for her to calm a bit. When her rambles fade, he pulls back to look at her. She smiles at him, a look of elation on her face. He smiles back at her.
"Tier? What - " He stops when she places her fingers over his mouth and shakes her head.
"It's no longer important . . . " She shifts, leaning against him, watching the sun rise. He blinks, then holds her close, watching her as the sun continues it's ascent into the sky. He pulls her closer and gives her a kiss, the sun bathing then in it's light . . .

Tierney blinks, her eyes slowly focusing in the dark room. She takes a deep breath, sitting up. She looks around the room. She tilts her head, rubbing her arms. She frowns a bit as the dream comes back to her. She shivers as she remembers how real it had been. She had felt the coolness of the water, the warmth of the sun, but especially the heat emanating from Talen's lips, the healthy glow to his skin. Tierney shivers again at the longing that runs through her at the thought. She curls back down on the bed, wishing Talen was here, but knowing he needs the time to himself. She burrows deep into the covers, pushing the dream from her mind and slipping back into dreaming . . .

A crescent of a moon illuminates a clearing, revealing two figures walking hand in hand. The taller of the two, a man with blonde hair and blue eyes dancing with laughter, leans down to brush a kiss across the neck of his companion, a woman with fire-red hair and emerald green eyes. She looks up at him and smiles, tilting her head in a silent question. He shakes his head, then leans down to whisper in her ear. She blinks a couple times, blushing, then nods. He chuckles, picking her up and swinging her around in a circle before whispering in her ear once more. She blushes again, the red spreading across her pale face.
She stands on tiptoe, whispering in his ear. He smiles softly at her. Her eyes kindle with mischeviousness and she trails a series of kisses from his ear to his neck. He shivers at her touch and wraps his arms around her, pulling her close. She murmurs softly into his skin.
"Are you sure, Talen?" He nods, his eyes closing again as she presses an open-mouthed kiss to his neck.
"Yes, Tier, I'm sure." He pulls her closer still, She nips his neck lightly, then soothes the mark with her tongue. She fangs and gently sinks her teeth into his neck, feeding of his life's blood, a shudder running through her as she does. He shivers, feeling her pull his blood gently from him. She pulls back, licking the wound closed, then stands on tiptoe to give him a kiss . . . .

Tierney jerks awake, shivering. She curls into a tight ball, shaking at how real this dream had been. She had felt her fangs descending, tasted Talen's blood. She hugs Talen's pillow tight, trying to calm enough to return to sleep. Her mind flicks back and forth between the two dreams, wondering what they mean and especially why they felt so real. Her body begins to relax, shifting from the tight ball. Her mind, though, continues to whirl. She hears Talen come in after a while. She closes her eyes and breathes a soft sigh of relief. He climbs in beside her, pulling her close. She nestles closer to him, her mind finally letting go of the dreams, spinning her into a dreamless limbo . . .
