What has happened to my country
Where freedom once was king
Where streets were safe and justice reigned
And God's love was a living thing.

What has happened to my country
Where people stood side by side
Where people worked together and
Looked upon our flag with pride.

What has happened to my country
Where hate and fear now rule
Where respect for human life is gone
And a gun is justice tool.

What has happened to my country
Oh God, please hear my prayer
And guide us back to you
Where love and peace are there.
