Unconditional Love

I've truly grown to believe that there are only two instances of unconditional love.   Those two would be the unconditional love of partent to child and vice versa and also the unconditional love that our pets give us.  In the past few weeks I feel a stronger love that I'm giving to my very special dog.  He's a 1-1/2 years old Boxer.   This big boy needs tons of love and attention and I've just recently started noticing myself giving him lots of it.  When no one is around to talk to, I usually talk to him.  I'm positive that he enjoys listening to my voice.  I know he doesn't understand what the hell I'm saying but just to know that there are a pair of ears that are actually listening to me speak, no matter what the subject, makes me feel that I'm being heard.  My baby boy has got the biggest pair of brown eyes.  He's just a gorgeous pup.  But he feels my love for him as I for him.  He'll come up to me and rest his chin on my lap while I'm working at the computer and just stare up at me as if he were just wanting me to rub his flappy lips.  So I will stop whatever I'm doing and pet him for a little while and just talk to him. I'll usually say, "What's wrong my big baby?  Need a little attention from mommy?"  He'll wag his tail...okay, his stub, because he has no tail...and after a minute of that little bit of affection, he's off to do his own thing.  He is such an obedient dog.
