Dark City review (Jul/Aug 2005, English translation and remarks by H.H.)
One year passed, and the grim Moscow telemite
made us happy with his next creation. This time,
the musician has used Chapters from Liber Al vel Legis
by Aleister Crowley as the lyrical stuff. And, naturally,
the fundamental thelemic principle "Do What Thou Wilt"
took its place here. This time, the music is as different
from the previous albums, as the lyrics does.
[
Direct hit! The comparisons with Belmez are knocked out.

Now, there is no (sometimes even senseless) chaos,
no dirt, no speed.
[
Yes, we are becoming a perfect crystal of evil sound.
Meanwhile, the 2nd and the 4th tracks are not slow.
- H.H.]
There is no any special technical playing on instruments,
everything is subordinated to The Word.
[
Not exactly... Everything was subordinated to the style of my dear
fiend Math_Daemon, who SPRAYS INSECTICIDE ON MUSICAL PARASITES.
Do not forget, DeathFrost plays alien (literally) music.
- H.H.]
There is nothing what could
distract the listener from the words of The Great Beast.
[
Provided that the listener synchronously reads the inlay...
because the vokillz were recorded with no intent to be
comprehensible.
- H.H.]
Only darkness, ideology, and propaganda.
[
And five stars for that only? :)
To say the truth, I simply cut out some thirteen exerpts
from Liber Al based on their extraordinary rhythm and
phonetics. (Remember, Aleister Crowley was a great poet.)
Then I recombined them to better reveal their lyrical
potential. For a fresh reader, the resulting text looks
like comics exposing the New World Order conspiracy.
