http://www.burningblack.net/index_1.htm -------------------------- DEATHFROST "1+2+3+4+...+35+36=666" (Cynoptik Records): The music of DeathFrost can't be easily classified; it's a mix of synthetic Black Metal, Doom, Death and Industrial Metal ... the results: something I haven't heard before... the programmed beats sounds like pumping veins, the guitar work is blurry, slow and distorted, sometimes almost Sludge-sounding, with a saturated low sound which tend to reminds me the sound of Type-O-Negative in some passages (just in the guitars/bass sound). The vocals are distorted, drowned, cut throat, snarling shrieks. There are, of course, a lot of strange electronic/industrial effects during this work; all this creates an absolutely asphyxiating, dense and obscure atmosphere... a totally hellish panorama comparable with the bleakest Black Metal feeling. The lyrics are inspired by Aleister Crowley writings and so the unusual demo name... The music of DeathFrost makes me think about an industrialized, blackish version of Rigor Sardonicous, not only the musical aspect, but the song's structures; those are quite monotonous and hypnotic... this work sometimes could fall into the unnecessary monotony, but once you get use to the spellbinding, occultist aura, you will have not problems with that...
