How are the "objective considerations" related to "seeing?"

Can self-interest include one's family or one's country?  Does it include property?
Actually the question gets back to DNA?  Might not it be the case that the genome is the
"self?"  What is the relationship between the self as you envision it and how your
understanding of what biology considers it?
