Hi!
My name is Sixten. I'm a software engineer from Hervanta, a suburb of Tampere, Finland.

(No, there are no polar bears walking the streets in Finland, the only place I have ever seen these beautiful creatures is in the Korkeasaari zoo in Helsinki. But in a survey done in England there were people who believed like that!)

In the preface is told that I am interested in Indonesia and anime.

Why Indonesia?
Well, we have lived in Indonesia for six months, and since that we have been active in the Tampere Club of the Finnish-Indonesian Association, where my wife Anni is the vice chairman.

NEW! The "Crazy-Man Documentaries" has an interesting slide show of Irian Jaya. Please have a look at the pictures which "cover areas from the Asmat, Kombi, Korowai, and Dani regions of Irian Jaya."

NEW! Please also read an article that covers the last few days of a jungle trek last year during Irian Jaya's worst drought. "My only regret is that more people were not aware of this drought, and sadly this article has never been published to help create this awareness - probably as in the words of Tessa Boase, The London Daily Telegraph, it was "simply too outlandish" for most publications. Outlandish, maybe - but true." says the author.

What is Anime?
Anime is a Japanese style of cartoons. Many of them are quite violent, but the ones I like the most are those with beautiful sceneries and beautiful girls.
My favourite is Kimagure Orange Road, with Madoka as one of the main figures.

Please listen to some good Finnish music:

Wayang

Today's picture:Wayang, a traditional puppet
Indonesia's most famous traditional art form is probably the puppetry.
If you go to Jakarta, one place that you might find very interesting, is the Museum Wayang (Puppet Museum).
More information on wayang.
For information on Wayang Kulit (Lether puppets), go to Joglosemar's article.
You can read about Wayang Golek in Wasantara net Bandung's article.
