Vegetarianism

Why vegetarian? I'll go into a little detail on each of these areas now

Rainforest Conservation

The raising of all the cattle that is sold has to actually take place somewhere. This somewhere is usually in underdeveloped areas, or places that need an economic boost. These places hold our rainforest. The rainforest is often cut down to provide grazing cattle(raised by huge McConglomerate McCompanies that we will neglect to McName) with fields to graze in. If enough people become vegetarian starting with you there will be a decrease in demand for McBeef and consequently a slowing in the deforestation of the rainforest.

Water Pollution

All this water being polluted. Can you believe that being vegetarian will actually reduce this? Well, I assure you it can. Water is used up trying to feed all the cattle and it is also polluted by washing these animals. That's all I have to say about that.

Animal Rights

Of course no one wants to kill a poor defenceless little animal, do they? If anyone is concerned about the treatment of animal, or experimantation on animals, then certainly they would not condone the conditions that animals raised for slaughter must endure.

World Hunger

Many people in the world today are starving to death everyday. If everyone reduced the amount of meat they eat by simply 10% , the whole world would be able to survive. This is because the reduction in meat consumption gives more room for grains to be grown. (An acre of grains can feed a family for 30 years, an acre of cattle land 6 months) This extra food is actually enough to feed the entirity of the starving population.

Personal Health

Being vegetarian greatly reduces the risks of heart attacks, cancer and other horrid diseases. If you want some really good info on all of these areas plus more check outVegetarian Resource Group
