Welcome to my humble tribute to Duran Duran. Here you will find my favorite lyrics as well as pictures that I have collected
from across the net...
I suppose I should start by telling you how I came to know and love the band known as Duran Duran.
Well, it started on one hot summer evening in Norman, Oklahoma. I was hanging out with Viviane, one of my new friends, in the strange little town.
We had planned on watching a few tapes of her aunt's that were Duran Duran (a few meaning 14),just for fun because we were bored. The moment I set eyes on Simon
I was intrigued. The moment I heard the words to Lonely In Your Nightmare I was hooked. The moment I saw the video for Save a Prayer I sank.
For two days I watched nothing but Duran Duran. Viviane's aunt's tapes were a conglomerate of information spanning their break through on MTV to their 1986 cover for
A View to A kill, the last time the group preformed together before Rodger and Andy left the band. I learned about the Drum and Simon's brush with death. And even though the tapes
were several years old hearing the news even a few years after the event still scared me.
Nine years after the first belated glimpse of Duran Duran, I own every album released(excluding Carnival-which I am working on)on cd or cassette. I have the vinyl of the first Power Station album
and currently am on the verge of buying another vinyl of Rio (If I remember correctly). I have every single video Duran Duran has released and a copy of Arena:An Absured Notion is on it's way to me.
I also am the proud owner of the Rio Album tour poster, which is in excellent condition and hanging behind glass on my wall next to the shrine that I built for Duran Duran (No...I'm not crazy, just obsessed).
There's also magizines in languages that I don't read stashed in the corners of my room....(not that that is relevent)and that is simply, how I became a Duranie.
NEWS FLASH!!!! DURAN DURAN HAVE RELEASED A NEW ALBUM CALLED POP TRASH!!!!!
