Another band, one that cause&effect toured with when first hitting the big time was Information Society other wise known as INSOC. This band rules the eighties techno for me...very cyberpunkish. I must admit that Hack is my favorite album.
Something more local that I have started to follow with an avidness close to Duran Duran, is Pop Secret. They're a local band from Tula, Oklahoma. Yes, the home of Hanson, but that's not the point. Pop Secret kicks total butt. I was completely amazed at the music they cover in their live sets. Their first album is supossed to be released by Dec '98. Last time I saw them they had said Nov. Oh well, I will content myself with Plunge by the lead singer called Goggin. And send them 33 white roses....Well, the group did release the album, had a party for it too--which I missed--they changed their name to Molly's Yes. I haven't had a chance to get the cd yet, but a friend has it and it's well worth getting.
Another oldie but goodie is of course David Bowie. Tried and True I will always fall for David as Jereth in the movie the Labyrinth. (I'm such a sucker for men in tights)
Flashing back to the eighties I also like to listen to some Billy Idol. I am currently searching for a copy of Cyberpunk so I can hypnotize myself with Adam in Chains.
A new addition to the mix is Dido. Actually that is what you heard when you entered the room. The song I sampled is called Hunter and it is off of her self titled album. As far as I know there are acually only two sites that feature her promenantly and I'm goving yo the link to the official site. The official Dido Site Go and have a look see if you like what you heard.
There are many other bands that I listen to and there is music that is classical as well. As soon as I find links I will tell you more about the musical intrests that are a part of my life.
