Definitely an addiction. A need, not a want. I listen to a very diverse representation of musical styles. I enjoy the sitar music of Ravi Shankar and the thundering drum n' bass of Spring Heel Jack. I grew up on classical, Neil Diamond and the Beach Boys and rapidly digressed to the Dead Kennedys and the Reverend Horton Heat. For me, listening to music is better than any other intoxicant and truly good music is thoroughly intoxicating, especially when it's enjoyed with someone special who really digs the music too.
