1) Research Mahavir Jayanti and answer the following questions.  Each answer should be a paragraph long (minimum).  Please, no plagiarism- use your own words.  Please email the answers to [email protected] or hand it in at any of the meetings before Thursday, April 30th, 1998:

    a) What is Mahavir Jayanti?
    b) Why is it celebrated?
    c) How is it celebrated (in India and in America)?
    d) Why is Lord Mahavira so significant to the Jain culture?

2) Memorize and be prepared to recite the following prayer by Thursday, April 30th, 1998:
