What are the secrets of their stability?

The Tao of Kiteflying answers these questions and more.

  • Which bridle adjustements have what effect on a kite,
  • What balance is, what stability is - and what's the difference,
  • How to design a kite for stability,
  • How to upscale, how to downscale, and what your limits are,
  • The brillant subtlety of the fighter kite, and
  • How to make 2 simple kites that illustrate the book's ideas
This book will help save you time, money, crashes and disappointments in kitemaking and flying.
Harm van Veen Harm van Veen as a boy in The Netherlands made gliders, not kites. He became an arts and crafts teacher. One day he saw an exposition of the kites of US artist Ton van Sant. He turned incurably kite crazy from that day.
From 1981-85 he helped the Holland Kite Team build and fly the World's Largest Kite (the title holder until 1966). He visited China and Japan in 1985 as a member of the team, was co-founder and editor of the Dutch magazine Vlieger, has written two kite books and is co-founder of the International Friends of Small Kites (IFOSK).
