My Dad bought a 1976 AMC PACER
from "Dan's You Like It, You Buy It" used car lot. My Dad
said he liked AMCs' because they were a real American car. I
thought the Pacer had "style" written all over it. The
second day we had the car a man named Ed came to our house.
He showed us his FBI badge and said he was a special agent.
Special Agent Ed told my Dad the FBI had been watching
"Dan's You Like It, You Buy It" for a couple of months. He
told us that our Pacer was a stolen car and they were going
to have to take it from us. Ed said Dan was crooked and the
FBI was going to set up a sting. They asked my Dad if he
would wear a wire and try to get Dan to talk. Ed said if we
helped him then he would help us get a new
car.
