He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother
The Hollies

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

So on we go
His welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with gladness
And love for one another

It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

This page is dedicated to a very
special man, my brother.

On October 30, 1999, I lost
my brother to suicide.
He is gone now,
but will never be forgotten

~My Brother~

Onto this earth
Such joy he brings
And now he leaves
On angel's wings
His pain he left
For God's embrace
As we accept his death
We grieve openly

This is my family.

~Missing You~

So many questions
Not enough answers
Not quite angry
But oh so sad
So many things left unsaid
So many things, but now he's dead
No last chance at goodbye
Too many tears to cry
We love you
We hold you close
And in our hearts, you'll always be

~COPING~

With each new day
The pain we share
We never think that we can bear
We hold your memory close at heart
And know that he loved us right from the start
We laugh, we cry, we carry through
Another day, without you
You left us all without a clue
A sudden hole, we never knew
Our world has changed, turned upside down
And we would each give anything to have you around
Though we will never know the reason why
Each time we look up into the sky
Each time that we see a bird fly
We will think of you

~Living Without You~

We think of the pain and all we've been through
And wonder if it was the same for you
Not a day goes by that we don't find
A memory of you won't cross our mind
A smile will appear upon our face
And then a tear, the smile replaced
As we miss you more each passing day

~I'm Free~

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered hoys-
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's bee full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief-
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee-
God wanted me now; He set me free.
