Katie, Normally I don't respond but I'd like to thank you for your input. I don't want to dispute anything (actually, I haven't kept up with the case recently and last I heard it was still being pursued but Janet Reno had other priorities taking care of Clinton's butt). When I re-do the website I'm going to incorporate all of the positive things that Denny's employees have said since I've been getting a lot more of that lately. Check back in a month and I want to present both sides. Although the treatment is at the individual level, the leadership is at the corporate level - and thus they bear the responsibility... that's the point I was trying to make but perhaps I haven't brought that out.

Also, there is no "group" here... just me trying to present both sides so I wish you wouldn't insult me. thanks. If you had any information on what efforts Dennys has taken for sensitivity training that they promised after the African American case was settled I'd be very thankful. I'd like to see that Denny's has made some progress because so far I haven't heard of anything. It'd be great if we lived in a world where everyone was treated fairly as you seem to believe in but I don't think that's the case and even out here in multi-cultural California racism is far from being erased. Btw, I don't know if you heard about the beating but several minority students (white AND asian) were beaten after being turned away along with other minority customers. The off-duty police officers who were the supposed security guards did NOTHING at all while they were beaten by the customers inside the restaurant. THAT is a little more than getting served first or second.

Subject: never seen more morons!

Alright , I'm a Denny's server, and I've never heard more b.s.!! Certainly a large corporation doesn't promote racism or discrimination..When they hire people, they do not ask, are you a racist?..That is illegal, btw..Morons!!!Excuse me while I laugh hystericaly..Now anyhow ,if another employee witnesses someone else discriminating, they are to report it right away..Management cannot be right next to them at all times..as well as they shouldn't have to babysit them..I defend them, because as well as being a server I am a superviser..(Star Coordinator). Now what you need to do, is look at the individual persons commiting this act, not the whole company..Furthermore,there are all companies of all sorts who discriminate, restaurants who give bad service, and flat out disgusting human beings that roam this Earth, this can't be avoided, whether you try to boycott humanity or not.Well hell, thats not possible now is it.? So instead what you try to do is pick out a large company, who has been in the news for these sort of acts before, therefore, easy target right!? Simple misunderstanding, such as a hostess who has two sets of people waiting in the lobby, maybe one couple is hispanic, while the other is white..The hispanic couple should have been sat first, but the hostess had thought the other couple was first, so she had sat them.To avoid it she should have asked whos first? But possible she was new, and a lil shy as of yet. So in the other couples eyes she was racist, in her eyes, she just didn't know!!Then you have the groups who just don;t care. You can bend over backwards to make them happy and in the end, they are still unsatisfied, coming in with the intention of having bad service.Shit happens.Life goes on.You allow other humans to effect you in such a harsh way, then you come out as the small person in the end.
