Here's a pretty nasty map to Bear Mountain.
Descriptive Directions from Los Angeles
- Take the 10 E
- Take the 30/330 North (towards Big Bear Lake)
- It gets a little tricky from this point after you pass Snow Valley so stay awake while you're driving! Don't get confused by all of the signs and keep heading towards Big Bear Lake (unless you're going to Lake Arrowhead)
- Make a right when you reach Big Bear Lake (you can tell because the water is RIGHT in front of you!) and cross over the dam. The left fork takes you to the left side of the lake where there's nothing but houses. The right fork is where the resorts and the rest of the town is at.
- A pretty good place to rent stuff is at LeRoy's (the SECOND one, close to Snow Summit). They have a bunch of new gear and the peeps there are pretty friendly.
- If you want to go to Summit then you'll see the signs, Bear Mountain is farther up the mountain about another 15 minutes.
Short Descriptions
- From the Los Angeles area; Take Interstate 10 East, to the 30 freeway North, to Hwy. 330 East which will take you up into the mountains. Hwy. 330 goes through Running Springs and turns into Hwy. 18. Follow Hwy. 18 East and turn right across the Big Bear Lake dam. You will now be on Big Bear Blvd. which you will follow through town until you reach Summit Blvd. Turn right on Summit Blvd. and the parking attendant will give you parking directions
