Nero became emperor when he was only 16 years old.
He was a well educated young man, but he was also so spoiled, that he believed he was the best in the world at everything.
He started to enter the public games in the circus, and he won. ( Not because he was good, but because he was emperor.
Nero also thought himself to be on of the worlds greatest artists. He would perform the music he wrote himself for
everybody who he could persuade to hear it.
Nero also was a cold-blooded murderer. He murdered Agrippina his mother, and he forced his teacher, Seneca to commit
suicide.
In 64 a fire broke out in Rome and burned much of the city to the ground.
The people of Rome disliked Nero so much, that they tought, that he had started the fire.
When Rome was close to a rebellion, Nero started to spread the rumor, that it was the Christians, who had started the fire.
In that way the executions of the Christians started. They didnt stop for almost 250 years.
In 69 Nero had gone to far, and the people stormed the palace.
Nero comitted suicide helped by two of his slaves.
The Julio-Claudian dynasty was over.
In 69 four people fought each other to be the next emperor.
Those four were: Galba, Otho, Aulus Vitellius, and Vespasian.
Vespasian won and founded the Flavian dynasty.
