This truck has kind of a funny story behind, or at the very least, a long story.  I won't put it down here, now.  Maybe at some later date.  I got this truck between my Junior and Senior year of High School - That's Taos High I'm proud to say.  It was in pretty rough shape when I got it - yes, worse than this.  Four Very flat tires, no brake fluid in the master cylinder, suspision on the owners part that the engine had frozen and split, an electrical short, the back window had been broken out, and the side windows were laying in the bed along with the metal channeling (the channeling was broken, of course).  And the emergency brake cable was broken.  Ever see "The Gods Must Be Crazy?"  The emergency brake gag had real meaning for me.  I been there.  I done that.  Oh, and I had to trade the left rear fender (the most rust free, dent free body part on the whole truck) to the previous owner for the title, but that's part of the story behind the truck.  Anyways,  It's mine now.  And it's going to stay that way.  It has the original 248 cu. in. straight six along with the original dual-range hydramatic transmission.  For poeple unfamiliar with Chevy/GM products, that is a four speed automatic transimission sans parking gear - it had not been invented yet - No Joke.  Recommended practice is to place the vehicle in Reverse, while parked and NOT running.  Sounds like an accident waiting to happen doesn't it?

Someday, I'll tell you about the garage you see behind my truck.  It holds a few memories for me as well.  I learned to play pool there.
