Dear Representative Loretta Sanchez, 

The McConnell / Canady anti-affirmative action bill, "The Civil Rights 
Act of 1997" is scheduled for full House of Representatives, Judiciary 
Committee mark-up on Thursday, November 6, 1997. This insidious 
legislation eliminates all affirmative action programs, which were 
created to provide equal opportunity for all Americans, in the name of 
"Civil Right." 

I urge you to oppose this awful piece of legislation and utilize your 
political influence to stop this bill from ever reaching the floor of 
the U.S. House of Representatives. 

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you in this 
very noble effort.
