ACTIVITY # 2 - Characterization

Anne Frank is a 13-year-old Jewish girl. She is very talkative. Anne was nicknamed "Incurable Chatterbox". She is cheerful, high-spirited, making fun of everything and she takes everything lightly. She only loved her Daddy. She loves her Mummy and Margot, but it is a different kind of love. She looks up to her Daddy and adores him. She sometimes is angry with her family and other and other people. She wants to be left alone in peace. They have her many times, but Anne never speaks about it. People always make bad comments about her no matter what she does. Anne was considered on insufferable baby. She also wishes that she's not Jewish, then she doesn't have to stand these people. She wishes to be different from what she is and from what she wants to be. Or to behave differently from the way she wants to behave. But it isn't possible. She's Jewish and nothing can change that.

Anne Frank is important in the novel, because the novel was her diary. So she is the main character. Every page of her novel was her ideas, feelings and events of life in the office building. So Anne Frank was the most important person in the novel. I feel pity for Anne Frank was the admired her for being so strong. But I would not want to be like her, because I don't want to hide in an office building. And I couldn't endure in a time of war. I don't like to be chased by some German people and then sent to some concentration camps, because I'm Jewish. I don't know what to do at that time. I don't want to be like her, because I'm not as strong and have more courage then Anne Frank has. If I could have Anne Frank as a friend, it would be a pleasure. For I think she's brave and for her bravery, I want to have this friend. I think that there were some parts of her that are same as me. She doesn't like to tell her feelings and ideas out. She wants to keep all these to herself and never let it out. She is the same as me. So if we are friends, then we will understand each other clearly. I will be telling my secrets while she will be telling her secrets to me. We will know what each other is thinking. And when we are sad, we could comfort each other. We will endure the pain together. I really want to have a friend just like Anne Frank.
