Bloom and
Birofunkel's original bonding experience consisted of recognisingthat
neither of them knew where exactly the emphasis was on "How many times
must
a CANNON BALL fly...". Art historians acknowledge two possible interpretations:
(1)
"... caaaaa-non ball..."
(2)
"... c'nnon baaa-aaall...".
The
original disagreement was rooted in the fact that Bloom and Birofunkel
were
familiar either with Bob's original version of the song or the (in no way
inferior)
version sung by Joan, but not both. In an ingenious resolution of
this
potentially
break-up-inducing conflict, Bloom and Birofunkel agreed to sing (1)
and
(2) simultaneously, thereby producing a unique two-part non-harmony.
