The Following pictures were all created in the final year of my degree, 1999.
They are concerned with the reproduction of images. In particular, The Mona Lisa.
The polaroids below were taken during an exhibition at the Diorama gallery in Nov. 1998. They show various people behind the 'Mona Lisa Cutout. '
These portraits are based on ideas of image reproduction, particularly of celebrities.We become so familiar with them via their reproductions, that we need only see a part to recognise the whole. The result is an image that sparks some familiarity but at the same time as something alien.
