My Cuda
I know , she's ratty looking.......but I bought her as a basket case on Nov. 13, 1998. To date, I've installed a 360 ( for now ) and converted the car to a 4 spd. It's running an Eldebrock dual plane w/ AFB, Hemi grind cam, Hooker super comps, 2 1/2" exhaust w/ Flowmasters, electronic ignition,Centerforce dual friction clutch, and 4:10 sure grip rear. It now has steelies w/ Plymouth dog dish hub caps and B.F.G 245/60-14 & 205/60-14.
This is an original 68 Formula "S". Although the fender tag stated that it's supposed to be an automatic, bench seat, A/C car, I've decided to build the car to my liking. I'm not sure if I'm keeping the A/C, but the slush-box is gone and the bench seat will be reupholstered. Well, I wanted a 4 spd, so my appoligies to the " numbers matching " crowd. I cut a hole in my floor. A re-built Hurst Comp Plus shifter lives there now.
Time & Money......the next steps will involve rebuilding the correct 340 that belongs in the car ( yeah....matching #'s ) I also have the correct X heads along with a factory 6 pack set up from a 70 AAR Cuda. While not a correct restoration, it will be to my taste. I'm painting her the original LL1, dark turquois. The interior is black with the deluxe wood grain door panels. She is a solid, straight, rust free car, which is nothing short of amazing for Long Island,New York. Hopefully, in the next two years she'll be finished. I also want to thank my fellow club members of the Mopar Power Club of Long Island for their support & knowledge. You guys are the best !
