M
any years ago, a convicted criminal was hung on a Cross!

It was only a matter of time, before death claimed Him!

He searched his heart, and he realized that he had done many wrongs against himself and others!

He realized that he was a sinner!

He also realized that the man who had been nailed to a Cross beside him was Jesus Christ - the Son of God. The criminal believed that Jesus could save him!

He slowly raised his eyes to Jesus - eyes that reflected pain, hurt, sadness - eyes that begged for forgiveness, and he said ' Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.'

Jesus' eyes softened, and He smiled through His own pain, and He said to the criminal, 'Indeed I promise you, that you will be with me in Paradise.'

Lord, during this Lenten Season, may each one of us search our souls, like the criminal who hung beside Jesus. May we face the many ways we have sinned against God, ourselves and others. May we place our sins at the foot of Jesus Cross, and ask Jesus to remember us, when He comes into His Kingdom.

We know that Jesus will forgive us!

We just have to ask Him!

Amen
