Jesus,
I must admit, I am very confused about this social event called
'PARTIES'.
I used to think that they were fun - a time to gather together with friends,
a chance to get to know them better, to laugh with them, and to support
and care for them!
BUT IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED NOW! Parties
have become a time when everyone's sole desire is to get drunk or stoned!
DESTRUCTION SEEMS TO BE THE LATEST PARTY GAME!
The big thrill now is the
QUEST to see how many people we can 'use', and how many things we can 'break.'
Furniture gets destroyed, money gets stolen, and walls become smeared with
word not worth repeating. THE FRIENDSHIPS THAT WE ONCE VALUED, NOW BECOME
DISTORTED AND RUINED! PEOPLE GET HURT, FRIENDSHIPS DIE, POLICE GET CALLED,
CHARGES ARE LAID, REPUTATIONS ARE DESTROYED, AND WE'RE LEFT FEELING LONELIER
THAN EVER!
Jesus, today I ask You to help me change my behavior! Help me to really
take a good look at what these 'PARTIES' are really all about! Please fill
my heart with Your Holy and Sacred Love so that I may love myself with
a love that will enable me to love others. Help me to grow in self-respect,
in order to grow in respecting and caring for others!
Jesus , please help our parties to become once again a beautiful event
in our lives - MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME! Guide our parties so
that they will be wonderful times filled with laughter and joy - great
moments of truly getting to know our friends - UNITED TOGETHER IN LOVE
- GOD'S LOVE!
