I Gazed With Wonder

Can a person step into the past?
Well, thats what I did today.
Before you show disbelief,
Listen to what I have to say.

I stood right next to our president, the great F.D.R.
Alongside him was Churchill, smoking a big cigar.
Stalin was beside them, standing stiff and stern,
And Chaing Kai Shek looked on, showing great concern.

When I came to Napoleon, I looked him square in the eye.
With his hand in his vest and his three-cornered hat,
He almost seemed sort of shy.
Was the world really afraid of such a little guy?

Scarlet OHara was jealous when Rhett Butler looked at me.
The giant Frankenstien was a horrible sight to see.
I saw Einstien and Thomas Edison, too.
Out of the past such wonderful people came into my view.

And then I came to a table.. seated were thirteen men,
In the center was the one, who was born to accept our sin.
Yes, it was the last supper, right before my eyes.
I gazed with wonder at our Lord, so gentle and so wise.

Yes at Tussauds Wax-Works I saw it all.
You may want to laugh and squeal.
They say these figures are made of wax..
But to me, they were real.
