I'll Be Here

I thought our courtship was most exciting,
With holding hands and sneaking kisses,
To me it was completely delighting,
For those days helped make me your Mrs.

Others indulge in wilder romancing,
As they think about marital bliss.
We watched the day quietly advancing,
Til we said I do with emphasis.

I love you now more than ever before,
And, honey, Im sure you know it,
My love for you will remain ever-more,
Though it seems I dont always show it.

Let others sing of gathering a star,
To erase their darling ones heart-ache.
I know a way that is as popular..
For you my dear one, Ill bake a cake.

They may spend their free time chasing the moon,
Or a sparkling rain-bow try to coax.
Ill be doing something more opportune,
Like darning your socks with careful strokes.

Ill be here while others search for a dream,
Because youve made all of mine come true.
Through my life, happiness is the main theme,
For Im married to wonderful you!
