My Daughter

Can she talk, they ask me
Has she learned any new words today?
Here sweet, come let me see,
Now child, let me hear what you can say.

To speak, they beg her so.
They even bribe her once-in-a-while.
She is still, til they go,
Then out pop her words through a quick smile.

Why, I ask, do they try?
When just like all other little girls,
She will learn, by and by,
Right now be content with..just her curls.

In her face, I rejoice,
For there is beauty beyond compare.
False words are not my choice,
For in her eyes is a love I share.

                  Guess this covers my daughter
and yours and everyone elses too!
