On A Cold And Spooky Halloween Night |
The dark sky was a mournful sight On that cold and spooky Halloween night, When up on our porch from the street Came the stomping of many restless feet. The screams and banging which arose Made shivers run from my head to my toes, Yet with this terrible uproar, I fearfully.. slowly.. opened the door. Four visitors stood in my view Who were indeed a mysterious crew. One strange creature looked like a cat With ears and a tail that was long and flat. A skeleton stood by his side Holding out a bag that was open wide. Third in line was a howling ghost And of magical powers he did boast. But rising far above the rest, The fourth intruder was the eeriest. Dressed all in black, she stood apart, And I knew she had a cruel, evil heart. The hat she wore came to a peak And her nose was more like a parrots beak. Her voice had such an ugly pitch, Anyone could tell she was a witch. Together they yelled: TRICK OR TREAT! And I quickly gave them something to eat, For no one should be impolite On a cold and spooky Halloween night. They went down the steps to the walk, Where three of them paused and started to talk, And the witch, not liking this delay, Hopped upon her broom-stick.. and flew away. |
