Someone To Care

Sometimes it is hard to stand straight,
And face the problems that surround me,
To feel that hopeless, heavy weight,
That weakens my faith, my energy.

Sometimes I just need a good friend,
When my troubles grow too much to bear,
Someone on whom I can depend,
Someone to listen, someone to care.

I know this friend will be waiting,
To soothe and erase my ugly scar,
Quickly without hesitating,
She works to bring me back from afar.

She bravely offers protection,
Knowing I am stripped of defense,
She clearly has no objection,
To my utter lack of common sense.

She comforts me with practiced hands,
She holds back the cruel world, while I rest,
With only a smile, she commands
I accept shelter without protest.

Then strangely, while Im unaware,
Of the miracle she has begun,
The sun starts to shine everywhere,
That courageous, welcome, bright, new sun!

Im whole again, alive again,
Fully prepared for another try,
Ready to stick through thick and thin,
Tired of being a stander-by.

My life she has magically blessed,
This wise companion, I call Mother,
With the confidence she possessed
And gave .As one friend to another.
