The Big Celebration

We welcomed a glorious New Year last night,
In the midst of much noise and fuss,
And a couple was there who were rather tight,
If you remember, they were us!

We did the things people are supposed to do,
At such a great world shaking time,
We danced and shouted and had horns that we blew,
Then of course we sang Old Ange Sagne.

We drank our fill, maybe a little bit more,
As the long night turned into day,
Not one minute of the party was a bore,
For people were especially gay.

Today, my head is buzzing in such a way
It sounds like a busy bee-hive,
Oh the misery - what a price I will pay,
Im lucky to still be alive!

          Do you agree --
If it came more than once a year -
          It would kill us all.
