MOTHER'S DAY

Your Little Girl

Going from the care of one I love,
          To the arms of another,
Was hard for me to do,
Because I had to leave you, Mother.
Each one who starts her married career,
Must feel the same as I do.
I have a good husband and a new life,
          But Mom, I miss you.

Remember the day at our wedding,
When the tears came to your eye?
Both of us were thinking of the past,
          As we began to cry.
We shouldnt waste time in days gone by,
When theres such a future ahead.
But somehow I am sure,
Our memories will never be dead.

We were so close when I was a child,
And you led me by the hand.
I knew no matter what I did,
          You would try to understand.
My feeling hasnt changed though, Mom,
Because I have it yet today.
I respect your wisdom even more,
          And your unselfish way.

Hand in hand well keep going through the years,
With a new goal in sight.
You will teach me the way to be a good wife
          .. The way thats right.
From you and life Ill learn to react to love,
          And its dizzy whirl.
But in both of our minds I shall always be
          .. Your little girl.
