Like the waters of a river

With it's crystal surface

Rarely showing any

Of it's hidden depths below

As it tumbles over rocks

That try to challenge it

In it's never ceasing flow

Ever rippling and reflecting

All that it passes by

In it's journey to the sea

And have you ever thought

That it's sort of like

You and me...

As we flow through life

Always twisting and turning

And on occasion, even stumbling

And that the brave face

We show the world

Is rarely what we really are

Deep inside...

And of the challenges we face

As we journey through life

In our quest for enlightenment

So maybe you and I...

Should be more like the river

And face all that comes our way

With heads held high

And the sure knowledge

That come what may

And tries to block our way

We will survive and prevail

And not just turn and run away

So come, take my hand

And join me as we plunge

Into the rivers of life...

In new found wonderment

Always questing and learning

All that comes our way

And let us flow like the water

As we journey through,

Our ever changing life
